About us
History
The Association "Sf. Nicolae" from Sibiu has been founded in 1995 with a humanitarian mission, to run programs of social protection for children, elderly and needy persons.
Since its founding, the association has related to the community living in the district Valea-Aurie Sibiu, and to the school in this district. Appreciatively 2.000 live in this parish.
As a result of the social inquiries made by social workers of the association, we have been made aware that there live over 30 needy orphan children and over 60 elderly people living alone, ill and with no help whatsoever.
Regarding the present situation, Father Simion Sasaujan, the priest of the church in of this district, has sought for efficient measures to help the needy ones, thus, founding the Association.
The activities of the association "Sf. Nicolae" Sibiu take place at the underground floor of the church of the district Valea Aurie Sibiu, Iazului-street , no.7.
The functions of the Association
- it organizes and performs all the activities included by social assistance for children, families and old people, who are in dangerous situations.
- it co-operates and is able to have as partners other associations, which are also involved in activities of social protection
-it promotes the social assistance through which dangerous situations and social problems can be avoided or solved.
